Shiu-Bo told me that he was frequently visiting the island during his school days.
It was my first time to the island, only went to nearby Kusu Island.
The boat departs from Marina South Pier Ferry Terminal, ticket was $18 per adult for round trip.
We took first boat, depart at 0830 hours.
Interestingly, boat was built in Onomichi City, watered January 1989, First year of current emperor era, Heisei. This year is Heisei 30th, and final year of current emperor.
Inside the boat remains many Japanese, I was pretty fascinated to see interiors and at the same time, happy seeing old Japanese ships built in my home prefecture still operating healthily =)
猫がたくさんいるというSt John島にお出かけしました。
シウ坊曰く、小・中学生の頃にはよく泳ぎに行っていたそうです。
私はその近くにあるKusu島には行きましたがSt John島は未体験です。
島へはマリナサウスピアのフェリーターミナルから。
MRT駅がすぐそばに出来たのでとても便利になってました。
チケットは大人$18。往復です。
私達は朝イチの8時半発に乗りました。
ボートに乗って目に付いた船のプレート。なんと尾道の会社のもので、平成元年に進水したもののようです。
平成最後の平成元年の、しかも地元のボートに乗るとは・・・。
なんだか感慨深くなってしまいました。
同時に、地元製のボートが元気にこの東南アジアで第二の船生（？）を過ごしているのに嬉しくなりました。
船の内部は日本語が多く残っていました♪
島までは20分程度。思ったより波が強く、結構揺れました。
（マカオまでの水中翼船と同じ感じ）
