P-chan let me try mini Snow skin Moon cake and Salted Egg yolk Tau Sar Piah.
She attended class at Phoon Huat.
the moon cake is Green Tea flavour, it has very nice and rich Green Tea flavour....just a few years ago, Green Tea powder is not that so good as Japan but recent years...I assume they are importing from Japan.
Tau Sar Piah is modern and unlike common Tau Sar Piah, used butter not shortening or onion oil. Therefore texture is like wet smooth and flaky...
Both are pretty modern version of typical ones!
PちゃんがPhoon Huatの料理教室で作ったスノースキンムーンケーキとタウサーピアを分けてくれました。
ムーンケーキは抹茶味。ほんの数年前までシンガポールで手に入る粉末抹茶って、香りも色も日本のそれとは程遠いものでしたが最近は日本から輸入してるのか、日本のものと同等です。Phoon Huatは富沢商店のものも取り扱っているので納得です。
タウサーピアは水生地と油生地という2種類の生地を交互に重ねたりしてペストリー生地を作りのですが、通常油生地はショートニングかオニオンオイルを使います。ですがPhoon Huatで習ったものはバターを使っているのでしっとり、上品な味のタウサーピアでした。
こんな上品なタウサーピアは初めてですw
